These are exciting times at Our Lady of the Lake University. With a banner year behind us, and an exhilarating year ahead, we are poised to take our students higher and farther than ever in their studies and service to the community.

In this issue of the Alumni Newsletter, you will read about the incredible achievements of the past academic year. There will be a detailed update on the rebuilding of Main, information on Alumni Weekend, as well as a description of new ways alumni can channel donations to the University.

Reflections on a Year of Growth
Our Lady of the Lake University enters the fall semester brimming with good news. From rising enrollment and freshmen retention to generous federal grants and philanthropic gifts, OLLU is gathering strength and momentum to reach, teach and graduate more students to impact the world.

Alumni Executive Council nominations sought
Elections for new OLLU Alumni Executive Council officers will be held in October. Nominations are being sought for candidates.

San Antonio area alumni are invited to cram an OLLU van with school supplies and enjoy a Back to School Mixer.

Alumni Weekend schedule set
Make plans to attend Alumni Weekend Nov. 5-6 on the OLLU campus. Take a sneak peek tour of Main Building, visit with the Sisters, reconnect with classmates and meet your new Alumni Executive Council officers.

Excitement building as Main nears completion
The scaffolding is gone, news windows are installed, flooring is in place and the new air conditioning system is cooling things down. Main Building is almost complete!

OLLU introduces the new Lake Fund
When Federico Cardenas, Jr. started classes at OLLU this week, he began blazing a trail that will change his entire family. Federico is the first member of his family to attend college.
